Biography

Delegate Sean A. Stinnett has been a dedicated member of the Maryland House of Delegates since March 3, 2025, serving on the Judiciary Committee, including its Criminal Law and Procedure Subcommittee and Family and Juvenile Law Subcommittee. He is also an active member of the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland and the Maryland Veterans Caucus.

Beyond his legislative role, Delegate Stinnett has an extensive history of public service, holding leadership positions in various community organizations. He has served as President of the West Arlington Community Association, Executive Director of Baltimore Clean Streets, and Senior Advisor & Communications Lead for the 300 Men March Movement. His commitment to civic engagement extends to board and leadership roles with institutions such as the Gwynn Oak Islamic Community, the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Maryland Muslim Council, among many others.

 

A strong advocate for economic and business development, Delegate Stinnett is a member of the Greater Baltimore Black Chamber of Commerce and the Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce. His dedication to community impact has earned him numerous accolades, including the BmoreArt Transformer Award (2024), the Black History Hero Award (2024), and the Governor’s Service Award (2016).

 

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, in October 1971, Delegate Stinnett is a product of the Baltimore City School Public System.  He earned an A.A. from Baltimore City Community College (1995) and Coppin State University in Sports Management, Journalism & Business Management at Coppin State University. His professional career includes serving as Deputy Director & Director of Baltimore Main Streets in the Mayor’s Office of Small, Minority & Women Businesses (2020-2023) and as an MBE/SBR/VSBE Liaison & Compliance Supervisor at the Maryland Department of General Services (2023-present). He is a Certified Maryland Procurement Officer and a Certified Maryland Procurement Associate (2024).

 

A devoted husband and father of three, Delegate Stinnett vows to be a champion for policies uplift and empower the people of Maryland.
